Mounjaro (tirzepatide) solution for injection in pre-filled pen Pharmacology: Long-acting dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist. Enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, lowers glucagon, delays gastric emptying and reduces appetite and energy intake. Licensed indication:

Weight management (weight loss and maintenance) in adults, as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, with initial BMI ≥30 kg/m², or ≥27 to <30 kg/m² with at least one weight-related comorbidity Administration: subcutaneous injection into abdomen or thigh, or upper arm (if a carer injects), rotating sites. Any time of day, with or without food. Missed dose: give within 4 days, otherwise skip. Day may be changed if doses are ≥3 days apart. Warnings and precautions: Acute pancreatitis (stop if suspected; do not restart if confirmed). GI adverse effects and dehydration (risk to renal function). Hypoglycaemia with sulfonylurea or insulin (consider dose reduction). Diabetic retinopathy. Pulmonary aspiration risk under general anaesthesia or deep sedation. Report adverse reactions via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.

Store unopened pens in a refrigerator (2–8 °C). Do not freeze. After first use, may be kept unrefrigerated at no more than 30°C for up to 30 days. Do not use if the solution is cloudy, discoloured or contains particles.
