Mounjaro (tirzepatide) solution for injection in pre-filled pen Pharmacology: Long-acting dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist. Enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, lowers glucagon, delays gastric emptying and reduces appetite and energy intake. Licensed indication:

Weight management (weight loss and maintenance) in adults, as an adjunct to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, with initial BMI ≥30 kg/m², or ≥27 to <30 kg/m² with at least one weight-related comorbidity Administration: subcutaneous injection into abdomen or thigh, or upper arm (if a carer injects), rotating sites.
