What is Aqualyx?
Aqualyx is a synthetic variant of naturally-occurring bile-acid produced in the liver (with the assistance of bacteria) to aid in the digestion of fat. Produced by Professor Pasquale Motolese, Aqualyx™ attaches to fat cell walls and causes it to become unstable, allowing the fatty acids trapped within to be released. This is done gradually using a buffer within the solution to allow the body to breaks down the remnants of the dissolved cell, while the fatty acids are slowly expelled through the lymphatic system. The treatment is designed to specifically target (via specialised cannula) stubborn and small pockets of fat that cannot be removed with regular exercise and healthy eating alone. An anaesthetic solution can also be added to the Aqualyx solution before injecting to improve comfort through the procedure.
